What is wireless and how does it work?
Wireless Internet access is exactly what it says: “wireless.” M33 Access
provides high-speed cost-effective solutions for Internet access via wireless.
No phone lines are needed! Never again worry about slow downloads, busy signals,
or disconnections anymore. With wireless Internet, your computer is always
connected to the World Wide Web.
We install a small antenna, among other receiving equipment, at your location.
The small antenna is placed somewhere outside near the top of the building. The
antenna communicates with our access point that connects the client to the
Internet through our high-speed backbone. We run a coax cable from the antenna
at your location to a broadband radio. The radio connects your computer to our
access point/tower and then to the Internet.
Why should I use wireless?
You should use M33 Access if you want or need a dedicated, always-on, high-speed
Internet connection. With wireless, you no longer need a costly ISDN or
dedicated business line (or lines) that you have to pay per-minute while
connected to the Internet. In fact, for our wireless service you don't need to
have a phone line at all.
How much does it cost?
We offer a variety of options from two main plans: Residential and Business.
Prices start at only $39.95 per month for residential and $49.95 per month for
businesses. Considering the cost of additional phone lines and dial-up internet
cost, Wireless broadband through M33 Access is highly affordable, with most
clients realizing increased productivity of no longer waiting for modems to dial
and connect, Web pages to slowly load, and connections to get dropped. If you
have any questions please ask.
What's bad about fixed wireless service?
As we mentioned earlier, sometimes our rolling landscape or tall trees interfere
with the signal between our towers and your location. If you do not have good
line of sight to one of our access points, then there is a very low probability
that you will be able to get service. The shorter the distance between the
client and an access point, the less direct line of sight is needed. The only
way to be sure if you will get a signal is for us to conduct an engineering
study to determine the strength of signal from our equipment to your home.
