Local Red Cross restores emergency vehicle with $2,400 donation from M33 Access

Dave Gutierrez, director of the Red Cross regional office in West Branch, accepts a check for $2,400 and a certificate of gratitude from Glenn Wilson, president and CEO of M33 Access, the Rose City-based high-speed Internet service provider.

The donation, made in appreciation for the efforts of Red Cross volunteers at the company’s Customer Appreciation Day in July, was used to restore the emergency response vehicle behind the two men. The West Branch office of the Red Cross serves Alpena, Alcona, Crawford, Iosco, Missaukee, Montmorency, Ogemaw, Oscoda, Otsego, Presque Isle, Roscommon, Sanilac and Wexford counties. Since it was refurbished, the ERV has supported disaster relief efforts in Alpena, Otsego and Ogemaw counties.

“Without this money, this vehicle would still be sitting here, unused,” Gutierrez said. “We’re very grateful to M33 Access for the opportunity to help raise some much-needed money.”

Said Wilson: “We’re absolutely thrilled to partner with the Red Cross and find ways to serve our community together. We look forward to more such opportunities with such a fantastic organization that helps people all over the world.”
